Brad S. Ellis, MASc, P.Eng., IWE

President & Lead Welding Engineer

Brad has worked in the field of welding engineering and metallurgy since 2004. A graduate of the University of Waterloo (BASc – Mechanical Engineering 2002, MASc – Welding Engineering 2004), he began at New Flyer Industries as their Weld Shop Manufacturing Engineer and progressed to become the Manager of Structures Engineering.

In 2010 he incorporated BSE Welding Engineering Limited and moved to full time consulting engineering in 2011, with New Flyer Industries becoming a valued retained client. His work has taken him to China, India and across North America. He has particular interest in failure analysis, purpose-built solutions and helping clients of all sizes succeed.

Outside of his professional work, Brad enjoys volunteering with his family including community soccer, curling and singing, splitting wood and preparing meals for a crowd.

Brian Miller, B.Sc. Engineering

Design, Drafting & CWB Weld Supervisor

Brian joined BSE Welding Engineering Limited in 2017 bringing over 10 years of experience in designing, welding, fabrication, and supervision in various manufacturing operations. He worked over 5 years as a weld shop supervisor and has helped many welders in obtaining their CWB weld tickets as well as assisting those preparing to obtain their CWB Weld Supervisor designation.

With expertise in SolidWorks and welded fabrications, he excels in designing and detailing novel solutions for component and assembly design requirements to meet the needs of both the client and the end user. Outside of work Brian loves being a hockey family and camping during Manitoba's beautiful summers.
